Krakowska Orkiestra Staromiejska

KOS_sKrakowska Orkiestra Staromiejska (Cracow Old Town Orchestra) was founded in 1988. For 25 years it permanently carries on its activity produced by Wiesław Olejniczak. In its nature its a youth orchestra with a big band tone, which repertoire is dominated by entertaining music enriched with choreographic shows. The band eagerly and with success takes part in musical contests and festivals, organizes artistic exchanges with other musicians and orchestras, accomplishes concert projects and tours. The Orchestra played in many countries such as: Austria, Bulgaria, Czech, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Slovakia, Ukrain and Vatican. For its cultural activity in favor of the city Cracow, the band received the medal “Cracow 2000” and the medal of the Cracow Cultural Centre.

Orkiestra Vivat!

Orkiestra_Vivat_sThe orchestra's history reaches to the year 1928. Therefor it became already part of the regional tradition. At the same time it contains of the young musicians' freshness and enthusiasm. At present there are about 60 persons playing and dancing in the frame of the orchestra. Their average age is not higher than 16 years. The band has a very high level of musical and entertaining skills. This can be recognized at the different kinds of given concerts. The performances take place within the country and abroad – at international festivals of wind music (e.g. Danmark, Germany, Sweden, Italy. Lithuania), concerts and parades (e.g. France, Russia, Bulgaria) The youth can prove their musical and dancing skills during drill parades and processions.

Dechový orchestr mladých Příbor (Republika Czeska)

pribor_sThe Youth Brass Orchestra from Příbor was founded in 1973/1974. Its organizers are the Elementary Art School of Příbor and the Association of Friends of the Youth Brass Orchestra. The band has achieved a very high standard of interpretation and for a few years it has been ranked with the top of the youth bands in Czech Republic. It performs about thirthy-five concerts a year. The musicians are 10-25 years old and their average age is 17. The Orchestra participates in many cultural events in town and the surrounding area. Not only does the band record for the Czech Radio, but it has also participated in several TV performances. The Orchestra often takes part in national and international shows, as well as in festivals and competition where it has always been highly appreciated – in Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, Hungary etc.

Blasorchester Greifswald (Niemcy)

greifswald_sThe Orchestra was founded in 1972 and has already a rich tradition. It started as a school's orchestra and – through out several decades - developed into an association from and for music fans of all ages. Pupils, students and people who finished their high school career several years ago – they all found their ways into the orchestra to create music. From the town Greifswald, the nearer and farer surroundings – the approximately 30 activ amateur musicians are a constant element of city festivals, village fêtes, concerts at health resorts, Chinese lantern processions, parades and other cultural events.

Orkiestra Dęta KWK "Halemba"

The Orchestra was founded in 1960. Its first conductor was Herbert Hahn the then concertmaster of the Great Symphony Orchestra of the Polish Radio and the Polish Television Katowice. He was the band-master for the next 23 years. After the year 1983 the orchestra was conducted by Jan Niesterok, Teodor Zając and Norbert Gemander. In 2012 the orchestra's conductor became Piotr Szczygioł. Already in the 60-ties of the 20th Century the Orchestra gained a high musical level, amongst other things by recording some music pieces for the Polish Radio. At the International Festival of Miners' Orchestras in Orłowa (1973, Czechoslovakia) the Orchestra has got the 2nd Prize, but in Prievidza (1974) it has got the 1st prize and the Challenge Cup of the Minstry for Mining and Fuel of Czechoslovakia.
