LAUREAT of the 7th INTERNATIONAL WIND ORCHESTRAS' MEETING ALTE KAMERADEN 2013
The orchestra has a 40-years jubilee and rich artistic possessions. Actively it takes part in the cultural life of the town and the region. It has become a beautiful music arrangement for all different kinds of church and state ceremonies. Furthermore it is a wonderful prominent symbol of Poland. The orchestra promotes the beauty of the Polish music abroad during its numerous concert. It has been already in all European countries – from Lithuania to Spain, from Finland to Sicily.
During one of these travels an especially honourable and moving ceremony was the private audition in the Vatican and the blessing of the orchestra by the Hoy Father John Paul II. The band is award winner in a lot of competitions in which it gained the highest ranking i.a. the 1st prize in the Festival of Sacred Music in Romania in 2001, the 1st prize and the people’s choice award in the Festival of Youth Wind Orchestras’ in Inowrocław in 2007 and the 1st prize in the Nationwide Festival of Wind Orchestras in Rowy in 2011. Since the orchestra started to work with a dance group, i.e. majorettes and color guards, its performances became a pleasure for the eyes and ears The dance groups present besides the street choreography and common orchestra parade, different dances from all over the world. The youth of the girls, their grace and charms combined with beautiful dresses considerably increased the already numerous audience. The choreography is prepared by Jolanta Dutkiewicz-Oleksiak. The whole band leads and conducts Zbigniew Jodłowski.
