Fanfarenzug Neustrelitz came into being in 1996 and was built combining other fanfare bands. The tradition of music played on fanfares in this region reaches to the times of the Grand Dukes of  Mecklenburg-Strelitz. Right now there are three generations of musicians playing in this band and learning from eachother. Since 2013 the Fanfarenzug Neustrelitz is champion of the federal state Mecklenburg-West Pomerania. During the last years, the band held the first places in the competitions of march and show during the Fanfaronade gaining the corresponding medals – at first in the 2^nd division, than in the 1^st division. Qualifications to the World Championships were gained in 2014, 2015 and 2016.

The highlight of the year 2015 was the participation in the World Championships of Marching Show Bands in Copenhagen gaining the fourth place in the marching competition and 17th place in the show-competition – status gold in all categories. In 2016 the Fanfarenzug Neustrelitz was organizer of the Fanfaronade, an event in which took part more than 870 musicians. In 2017 the ensemble took part in three international events and their competitions: Fanfaronade (fourth place show, third place march – 1st division), WMC World Music Contest in Kerkade/Netherlands (gold in march and silver in show), World Championships WAMSB in Palm Springs/ USA ( second place in march, title world champion for the staff leader, third place for the drum line). Fanfarenzug Neustrelitz is strongly connected with its region and adds splendour to a lot of events – in the region, on federal territory, but also abroad. For the musicians of this band important is the time spend together and careing for eachother, in accordance with its motto ”Together we are strong”.
