The brass band Oderbrucher Blasmusik was founded in April 2002 on base of another wind orchestra which existed already since 1968. The band's name draws attention to its native country, which is placed in the Oder valley situated near the German-Polish border. The repertoire contains waltzes, polkas and marches of the traditional brass-band music from Germany and Bohemia, evergreens and modern pop songs. The Oderbrucher Blasmusik plays at village fetes and city festivals, at anniversaries and family parties. Furthermore the band took part in a filming of the local tv channel Berlin-Brandenburg as part of the documental series „Bauer sucht Kultur” (Farmer looks for culture).
