Musikkapelle Obermarkersdorf (Austria)

Obermarkersdorf1xThe Musikkapelle Obermarkersdorf came into being in 1921 at the voluntary fire brigade. Currently it has 50 band members. The well known Viennese director of music prof. Karl Zaruba composed a march especially for this orchestra – the “Gruß aus Obermarkersdorf” (Greetings z Obermarkersdorf) and dedicated it to this band. The orchestra can be proud of various recordings – amongst other music pieces also this march. Every year with success it takes part in marching and concert competitions. The band´s speciality is playing marching music combined with an artistic parade. The Musikkapelle Obermarkersdorf plays a broad repertoire containing modern and classical music as well as film and musical music. The orchestra already played various concerts in Austria and abroad.
