The orchestra works within the framework of the voluntary fire brigade. Since 1960 it adds splendor to state, local and church ceremonies. The orchestra is an active participant of the cultural life in its hometown Gorzów Wielkopolski.
The orchestra came into being on the 1st of April 1954 and since then works by the brown coal mine Konin. The orchestra’s line-up contains 50 musicians. They play classical music, opera, film music, jazz, pop, patriotic and sacral music. The orchestra takes part in parades and orchestras’ tattoos presented during open-air events.
Established in 1957 by composer and conductor Vitas Žilys the Lithuanian Wind Orchestra became the most popular and known collective of all times. After years the traditional classical repertoire was broadened to incorporate entertainment music and staged parades with choreographic elements.
In the orchestra there are playing not only pupils but also 20 persons of different ages. All persons are amateur musicians who have a lot of fun spending time together in the association. The orchestra presents its esteemed audience a rich and varied repertoire full of entertaining and dance music of all categories.
The orchestra started in 1937 on Midsummer Day in Denmark. Different people from smaller towns in the Municipality around Nykøbing Sjælland who played instruments where gathered. They made a quick decision and the orchestra was started. Today the orchestra has 35 members who are from 18 to 75 years old.
