Orkiestra Wojskowa Sił Powietrznych w Koszalinie
The Orchestra was founded in 1949 at the Officer Candidate School of Anti-Aircraft Artillery. Actually 30 musicians play are member of the Band. Band-master is captain Krzysztof Więch. In its over half-century longing history the orchestra gave concerts in the whole country and abroad. It added splendor to state’s, religious and patriotic ceremonies. The Band took part in military parades, shows and festival s in Belgium, Germany, France etc. The Orchestra plays a lot of different kinds of music: marches, Polish dances and songs, symphonic works and entertaining music with the newest worldhits. For its artistry the Orchestra got a lot of honorable mentions awards and the acknowledgment of the public.
The Orchestra cooperates with the mixed choir Lajos Bárdos in the frame of the association Szentes Friends of Music. During the last 18 years its concerts were combined with a lot of beautiful successes. The Band took part in several competitions and festivals in which it was lying poles positions and got honourings. Besides the musical challenges it is very important to the Orchestra to stay in contact to other orchestras in Hungary and abroad, because such meetings popularize the brass music and strengthen personal and artistic relationships between the musicians. The Band plays 20-25 concerts each year, not only in Hungary but in Italy, Germany, Romania, Croatia and Serbia.
