The Orkiestra Reprezentacyjna AGH (Representativ Orchestra of the University of Science and Technology in Kraków) is a majestic wind orchestra, which combines students from Kraków, who make music. Since 21 years it works in the framework of the University of Science and Technology in Kraków.
Currently it contains of 70 members. Its repertoire consists mainly of entertaining music and soundtracks, but also of works which characertistics are more dignified and sincere. Since ist beginnings the orchestra takes part in important events of its Alma Mater, i.e. the opening ceremony of the academic year, the festivities during the day of Saint Barbara, the Hoborski Days or the Juwenalia. Furthermore the ensemble organizes its own concerts for several occasions. One of the most important annual concerts is the birthday concert. The orchestra takes part in cultural and scientifical events in Kraków, but also in other places, and beautifies other events with its music. These are: Night of Science in Kraków, Grechuta Festival or Day of National Education. Each year the ensemble takes part in Polish and international competitions and festivals. For the last years these were “Złota Trąbka” in Kozy, “Złota Lira” in Rybnik and “Alte Kameraden” in Gorzów Wielkopolski and competitions in Spain, Croatia and Bulgaria, where it gained very good results. The undeniable highest achievement of the orchestra is the title World Champion, gained in the World Championships of Wind Orchestras 2019 in Calgary.
