The beginnings of the orchestra were in the end of the 1940-ties, when its first germs were created in Ustka. The Military Orchestra has a rich repertoire of march music, entertaining music, modern music, folk and also patriotic-religious and marine music. It recorded music for the Polish Radio, broadcasting stations and Polish and foreign television stations. It even took part in the music movie "Listy do Skaldów". In its possesions are numerous prizes and decoratins gained at festivals and competitions. For good it settled in the counrtyside of the city and the garrison. It's well know on the Coast and in the whole country. The orchestra gave concerts also abroad for example in Latvia, Estonia, Germany, France and Great Britain.

The orchestra was established in 1955. It is located in the range of the leading Polish orchestras. At reviews and festival it gains high prizes. In its possessions are numerous important awards and dyplomas. A lot of times it presented with successes its abilities abroad during international festivals for wind orchestras. For its activities tin 2005 the orchestra got the honourable badge "Za zasługi dla Województwa Wielkopolskiego" (For theservices for the Greatpolish voivodeship). Currently the band's artistic director and conductor is Jarosław Goerlich.
